Strange things and continuation
Sometimes the strangest things come up in conversation. Yesterday we had lunch with friends and for some reason we talked about boiling eggs and they trotted out a little gadget called an 'egg piercer'. We'd never heard of such a thing! Evidently this little thing pierces a tiny hole in the shell (prior to putting in the water) and helps the egg not to crack while cooking. It also helps with peeling the eggs once they're cooked.
