Nils Strindberg and Knut Fraenkel, aids of Salomon August Andree, the head of the S.A. Andree's Arctic balloon expedition of 1897, with lieutenant Gustaf Vilhelm Emanuel Swedenborg, a reservist for the expedition, working over the folding sled on Danes Island, the scene of the hop off which ended in death for Andree and his companions on White Island, 550 miles from their objective, the North Pole.
