'Dear Søren.Let me get straight to the point. It would not be possible to give you more than a week to finish your painting. Afterwards - when it is completely dry - I am willing to sit a few more times for you when you are finishing the glazing. I must have my days and evenings free. I also have to make a living from my own work.' - Drachmann to P.S. Krøyer 12 January 1907. Woooo ... Is that a new and exciting year that we can spot in the horizon there? "A young couple by night at Skagen beach" by Valdemar Irminger 1900. Artist Valdemar Irminger was born #onthisday 167 years ago - as a painting professor he taught amongst others a young Karen Blixen and Helga Ancher. Especially the latter became very inspired by his romantic style which often featured animals as the main motif #valdemarirminger #skagensmuseum
