HAWAII TERRITORY 1948 TRUCK plate
Hawaiian truck plates were all numerical in 1948. Passenger plates used a letter in their serial numbers that year.
JAPAN license plate with seal
This Japanese plate has an intact seal at the upper left. This is the only Japanese plate in my collection with this seal which is usually badly defaced or removed from the plate when it leaves the country as an export vehicle. Japan has very strict rules regarding it's plates. This plate came from a Thai collector. Click on all sizes to see the seal up close.

YUKON 1953 undated license plate before tab addition
Here is a 1953 Yukon base plate without the tab. Note the low number. This shows that it is possible to have two pairs of this type of plate with the same number only one pair will be dated EX-31-3-53 with no tab. A lot of plate collectors are confused by this. many have said only new registrants got the undated baseplate and tab while some say the 1953 undated bases were all higher numbers. This low number truck plate shows that this number was reissued again on a new plate in 1953.
