Royal Copenhagen Faiance - 1403-11 Trivet 14.5 cm. The Tranquebar Faience service by Christian Joachim: The name has its origin in the old Danish tropical colony ”Tranquebar” at the coast of South India (1616-1845). Decorated under the glaze. In 1912 Christian Joachim got the idea for a modern faience design inspired by old East Indian porcelain. Tranquebar was developed in 1914-1918 and besides Thomsen, Nils Thorsson designed many items. Some of the extra items have become very collectible.
