The jail built in 1912 is one of approx. dozen structures remaining in the ghost town of Ludlow, Co (located 12 miles northwest of Trinidad, Co).   The town has been abandoned since April 1914 when the Colorado National Guard & Colorado Fuel & Iron Company camp guards attacked the tent colony of 1,200 striking coal miners and their families. The site of the Ludlow Massacre has been designated a National Historic Landmark.
