Le #navet (the #turnip) has been cultivated in #Europe for more than 1000 years. This fleshy root belongs to the main vegetables eaten during the Middle Ages. The turnip was very popular until the17th century, but gradually fell into oblivion with increasing potatoe popularity. During 19th century, however, the navet reappeared in the markets in spring and autumn. It can be eaten raw or cooked.
