VERA was VERY keen on VEGGIES! Lots of pomegranates in VIBRANT red that POP on the creamy linen background...so modern for vintage! Measures 28 x 16 and is in excellent condition from my smoke free home. Some small dark spots on one end (see last photo). Fortunately this can be displayed without revealing them! Vera Neumann (1907–1993) (born Salaff) married Austrian George Neumann, she was an American artist and entrepreneur. during WWII, Vera was in search of alternative materials. She came across some parachute silk at an army surplus store, it was the beginning of her scarf business. She kept her signature on art transferred to the scarves, creating the first signature scarf . "Vera scarves" became immediately popular.
