SHEPHERD NEAME'S SPOOKS ALE - is a devilishly great beer. It is characterised by a distinct, biscuity palate, derived from blending three traditional roasted barley malts in the mash. These complex, malty flavours are wonderfully balanced by a citrusy, hoppy bitterness and an aroma from an especially fruity hop which is added at four different stages during brewing.

We are proud to be Britain’s oldest brewer and continue to brew many of the beer styles which made the UK the brewing capital of the world.

THEAKSTON'S OLD PECULIER - is a beautiful, yet very simple beer, brewed using a very generous blend of finest pale, crystal and roasted barley with two bitter hops combined with the majestic and noble ‘Fuggle’ hop to produce a beer of awesome full-bodied flavour with subtle cherry and rich fruit overtones. It tastes superb when accompanied by rich stews, strong cheeses and sweet puddings.

Theakston Legendary Ales - Old Peculier - had a pint of this at the Museum Tavern in London (a block from the British Museum) and it was wonderful! A highlight of the trip!

Mild Bitter Ale

It sounds like an oxymoron. How can a beer be both a Bitter and Mild at the same time? Understanding the vocabulary of the past is crucial.
