Mrs. E.B. McLean (LOC)
Mrs. E.B. McLean (LOC) Evalyn Walsh McLean (1886-1947), wife of Edward Beale McLean, publisher of the Washington Post (1916-1933). She was the last private owner of the Hope Diamond, among other highlights of her biography; she's also the "Mrs. Ned McLean" mentioned in the lyrics of Cole Porter's "Anything Goes."
Pierre Cartier and his family. He was a world renowned jeweler. His family had been in the business for several generations, but Pierre is the man who opened the London and New York stores, which really made the name and the brand famous. At one point he owned the Hope Diamond.
