The Danish Nisse. - The “nisse” a mythical little creature, is an old Danish tradition as well. Legend says it is an old little man dressed in red and gray with a white beard and usually with a wooden spoon in his hand, he was believed to be hundreds of years old. One of the Danish traditions was to put Rice porridge out for him at Christmas Eve, to keep the friendship with the “nisse”.
