Teach your child about symmetry with this fun and creative copying game. Use LEGO DUPLO baseboards and bricks to build a pattern covering one side of the board, then encourage your child to copy the other side. Make a butterfly, a face, a tree or help your child to make their own design - you could also put a plastic mirror down the middle of the board to learn about mirroring too. This is a great simple game for preschoolers and can easily be made more challenging as your child learns more.
All you need to play this classic fairground game with your little one is some LEGO DUPLO bricks, LEGO DUPLO figures if you have them, and a stack of cups. Set out matching pairs then cover them with the cups. Challenge your pre-schooler to find the pairs – can they remember where each companion is hiding? This game is a great way for your child to flex their memory, concentration, and logic, and you might even find it’s tricky for adults too!

This simple math game is a great fun way to help kids learn to count. You’ll need some LEGO DUPLO bricks, two characters, a small baseboard, and a large die. Each player chooses a character then rolls the die. Count out the corresponding number of bricks together and add them to your child’s tower. Whoever gets to ten first is the winner, or make it a larger number to challenge older children – can you get to 100?
