Rod McIntosh - 1 In 5 The artist is fascinated by and passionate about marks and mark making; restricting materials, the rehearsal and repetition of a gesture and finally reducing the marks to the pigment particles trapped within and not upon the surface. This piece draws an analogy between the anonymity of a unique individual mark amongst a grid of like and the anonymity of an untested person within a larger populous. Approximately 22% of people are living with HIV and are untested.
