Newborn Photography Ideas

You guys - I love shooting in my studio but I also have a new love... shooting newborns outdoors! I've shot a handful of outdoor newborn sessions before COVID came to town but I've fallen in love with these sessions all over again. These sessions are a great option if you want a low contact session (I don't even have to touch the baby and I'm 6 feet away!). I'm also happy to wear a mask on top of that if it makes you feel more comfortable.

I've photographed all 4 of these beautiful girls as newborns! The last little beauty was born while I was on maternity leave and her mom asked if I would pretty please come out of maternity leave to photograph their last baby. She was even kind enough to offer to hold my new baby while doing so. How could I say no?! I did one shoot while on maternity leave and this was it! I'm so glad. All four girls were the perfect models and I just loved meeting their new addition who is only a few weeks…

I would like to introduce you to sweet baby Rose. She weighs in around 8 pounds and she is just so cute! Baby has a full head of hair just like mom and dad and this little family is just perfection. Little Rose gave us quite the smiles during her newborn session and she was just a joy to work with. I can tell that she is definitely the flower of her parents eyes. It was so sweet to have them all in the studio as a new family of three.

I've been having lots of bigger families in the studio lately and I've been loving it! This family is no exception. These sweet kids all under the age of six were a joy to work with. With 4 kids under six you just never know what you are going to get and these 4 rocked it. Seriously - they couldn't have been more adorable and agreeable to all my crazy requests. They were also all so gentle and kind to their new baby brother - so stinking sweet! I hope I captured how truly in love this family…

These three sisters were adorable as could be in their matching PJs! They were so happy and so stinking cute. When you have three kids 3 and under you probably don't expect a lot out of pictures, but we got SO many pictures with these there I had a hard time narrowing it down for the blog post.

This newborn baby girl was stunning. She had the most perfect head of dark hair, sweet kissable cheeks, and lovely peach skin! She was also a great little sleeper for her newborn session. She also happens to have two stunning moms who were just as picture perfect! This whole session was fantastic and I enjoyed spending time with this adorable family. I can't wait to watch this sweet girl grow over the next year.

New baby sister Cassy is just a few months younger than my new addition. So I hope they will also grow into good friends too! Sweet little Harrison has made his entrance into the world and he came weighing in at 9 pounds, 4 ounces. He is just the apple of his parents eyes. When he came to visit for his newborn session he was so good in the studio and gave us lots of cute little smiles. I was so happy that I got to meet him and his family and I look forward to watching him grow over the next year. Â

Meet baby Zaina. She was a sweet little thing with a full head of hair and just the right amount of squish. This sweet baby girl happens to belong to an NFL player. I'm not sure how much football she will be playing, but she as perfect as can be.
