This project was inspired by one of my favorite artists, Andy Goldsworthy. Andy makes incredible works of art from elements of nature, in nature. His eye-catching works are purely ephemeral lasting sometimes only as long as a gust of wind, a flowing stream, a rising tide, or a warming sun. Having kids make their own rain shadows will leave a lasting impression - and cool them off!
These pictures are made with the shadows of everyday objects! Vincent Bal once noticed that his teacup cast a shadow that looked like an elephant, so he ran with the idea and now creates shadow art with all kinds of objects.
