Needle felted

Let me share how I made these cute little flowers. Anyone that has tried needle felting will tell you what a hugely satisfying craft it is. There's something strangely therapeutic about stabbing a big ball of fluff and watching it turn into a solid piece of sculpture. It's the perfect craft for letting off steam. Although I live in beautiful Yorkshire, I rarely manage a glimpse of the wildlife surrounding me. I’m very lucky to have been sent an abundance of photos and videos of foxes, badgers and hedgehogs from people who are lucky to have regular visitors to their gardens. Using these images and following many wildlife rescue groups on social media, I love creating my needle felted sculptures.

Russian artist Yulia Derevschikova creates adorable and realistic-looking animals using wool, thread, and needle. Since 2015, the Russian artist has produced small animals that seem to remind one of the characters from Disney movies with how cute they look.

This project was long overdue. My mom gifted me a needle felting kit for my birthday, and I had set it aside for a few months.
