The Lighthouse Hat

THE LIGHTHOUSE HAT When I was little, my father used to take me to McDonalds for lunch—my usual was a Happy Meal with animal crackers for ‘dessert’. Later, we would walk to the lighthouse, where I would gleefully share my desert with the ducks. To this day, that lighthouse holds some of my sweetest memories. The Lighthouse Hat is a product of those memories. Soft, warm, and beautiful in its simplicity, this delightful hat is a joy to knit, and to wear. I hope it brings you abundant warmth and pleasure :) YARN Note: 1 strand each of Yarn A & Yarn B are held together throughout Yarn A: Katia Concept Cotton Merino (70% Cotton, 30% Merino Wool; 115 yards / 105 meters / 50 grams): 1 ball in desired colour (shown in colour #100). This is a chainette-style yarn. If substituting, choose a similar light and lofty yarn for optimal results. Yarn B: Katia Concept Silk Mohair (70% Mohair, 30% Silk; 219 yards 200 meters / 25 grams): 1/2 ball in desired colour (shown in colour #200). NEEDLES Size US 9 (5.5 mm) 16”/40 cm circular needle (ribbing, body). Size US 9 double-pointed needles x 4 (crown). GAUGE 18 stitches & 24 rounds = 4” (10 cm) in 1 x 1 Ribbing. 18 stitches & 24 rounds = 4” (10 cm) in Stockinette Stitch. FINISHED MEASUREMENTS 17” (43 cm) circumference x 7.75” (19.5 cm) length. To fit approx. 22” (56 cm) head circumference. FIND YOUR PERFECT FIT The stitch & round multiples on which The Lighthouse Hat is based are now included in the pattern. For less experienced knitters who want to make a different size, the math is now provided. More experienced knitters can use this same information to make decisions about yarn substitution, gauge etc. I hope this helps empower you to understand your knitting better and to find your perfect fit!

Cozy Blanket Cardigan

Oh my - I am SO excited to share this new crocheted blanket cardigan with you today! Of all of the blanket sweaters that I've made, this one is quite possibly the coziest and most comfortable EVER. In fact, when Lion Brand Yarn contacted me about making two projects for their 12 weeks of Christmas series, I just knew that I wanted to try and make the warmest and most wearable blanket sweater yet. In order to do that, I decided to use super bulky yarn (my fave!), a large hook and a textured stitch pattern. It turned out so nicely
