at my near neighbor's farm. They do make a show! These trees are very popular in our little valley--everyone (but us) seems to have them. Normally, the bloom lasts about a week, rarely, longer. The fruit is eaten only by birds. Native to Asia; imported for the landscape trade. Unfortunately, the tree is now invasive in many states where birds have dropped the seed on disturbed ground, and where it often out-competes native species.
