In the 1957, Finn Juhl was asked to design the interiors of seven new DC-8 jets for Scandinavian Airlines (SAS). Finn Juhl designed the flight kitchen, cloakroom, restrooms and the lounge in first-class ended up becoming a reality. He also specified the cabin’s colour scheme and designed both its textiles and its lighting. The watercolours from 1957 depict the bright colour scheme of the interior.
