THE CELEBRATION (1998). Danish- Dogma film. Deals with heavy topics, so your warned. Great piece.

The Celebration (1998)

A Danish film based on a lie told on a radio talk show, Festen, is the story of a terrible family secret revealed at a father’s birthday.

An odd, but charming, assortment of students in Denmark come together to learn to speak Italian and manage to find their voices in this Dogme 95-ish film.

Italiensk for begyndere (2000)

Italian for Beginners, Danish: Italiensk for begyndere, 2000 Danish romantic comedy film written and directed by Lone Scherfig.

Den Eneste Ene (The One and Only) danish comedy by Susanne Bier - just love this movie <3

Adam's apples - love Scandinavian movies

Adam's Apples - Danish Quirky, odd, black comedy with Mads Mikkelsen in a truly unique role for him. About the Book of Job, faith and belief.

Gonna watch this tonight (for the 15th time)... One of my favorite Danish films!

Gonna watch this tonight (for the time). One of my favorite Danish films!

"Marie Krøyer". I really would have wished for this movie to actually tell the story of Marie Krøyer. The story of her life, her youth, dreams and love. A life full of wealth, esteem, jealousy and admiration that ended in complete loneliness and oblivion. Instead we hear the story of her marriage to the famous painter P.S. Krøyer, and even though they truly had a very unusual partnership, it was'nt what I wanted to see. Why is the story of a strong, beautiful woman almost never enough? <3 <3…

"Applause". Despite its quite a few nominations and wins, I found this movie both tiresome and hard to even remember the moment it had ended. The main character is so pathetic it makes you want to tell her off. I honestly think it's a shame this movie doesn't succeed in getting its message across because the theme of the film is relevant and interesting. <3 <3

Applaus (2009)

Applause Danish dialogue with English subtitles starring Paprika Steen, Michael Falch, Sara-Marie Maltha

"Nynne". Danish comedy at its best! Nynne is a single woman, a shopaholic, city-chick and always always always an embarrasment to the outer world. Mille Dinesen plays the character of Nynne brilliantly - with charm, wit and the completely perfect combination of naiveté, ironic distance and wisdom of life. This movie is utterly perfect for all of us women who just feel lost in life from time to time. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
