Como Pleasure Grounds, ca. 1900 -In 1865 Thomas Holt acquired approximately 12,000 acres of land along the southern foreshores of the river. In 1885 a railway bridge was built across the Georges River as part of the Illawarra Railway line, which prompted Holt to subdivide and auction a parcel of his land adjoining the new station at Como.
