Hun…

Quadrant Astrolabe, circa 1325 A.D. This rare instrument-only seven dating from medieval times are known to exist-combines the features of a quadrant and an astrolabe. Essentially, the circular face of an astrolabe has been "folded over" twice to create a quarter-circle. This instrument could serve as a measuring tool and perform many of an astrolabe's calculation functions as well. National Museum of American History

The backside of the solvogn (the sun carriage) (Nationalmuseet) in Denmark. c.1800 to 1600 BCE. Possibly a calendar -- the sum of an addition of the number of spirals in each circle of the disk, multiplied by the number of the circles in which they are found, counted from the middle, results in a total of 177, which comes very close to the number of days in six synodic months.
