The Cooper's Hawk - a medium-sized hawk found from S Canada thru the U.S. into N Mexico, sometimes migrates as far south as Panama. It feeds mostly on birds and small mammals. Of the 3 bird-eating Accipiter hawks, Cooper's is the mid-sized species and the most widespread as a nesting bird south of Canada.
