Instructions for the kanga design were made by Mr. K.G.Peera (Swahili nick-name Miwani Mdogo 'Little Spectacles') in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, before being sent to the firm of C.ITOH & Co in Japan where artists would draw and colour the designs to Mr. Peera's specification before sending them back to Dar Es Salaam. Once Mr Peera was satisfied, the final designs were sent to Japan for printing. Circa 1960
