INDIRA EKADASHI.  26th SEPTEMBER 2016    This ekadashi ritual falls on the eleventh day of the Krishna paksha of the month of Ashvin. As this falls in the pitr paksha period devotees pray for the salvation of their ancestors and for them to be freed from all their sins. This demon had stolen the Vedas from Lord Brahma and pushed Prithvi under the ocean. Varaha first raised Prithvi on his tusks and then fought and killed Hiranyaksha and retrieved the Vedas.
