Ocean Unit - a bottle jellyfish. The preschool kids love things that hang in the classroom.... Interesting to see how much the kids can do themselves - what needs to be modified.....(we will have to pre-punch the holes I'm sure). And let's go with lots of different colors too.

In the art room, the kids colored on #6 clear plastic plates and cups with permanent markers. I then warmed the plastic (out of reach of the kids) with a heat gun until it begin to melt and bend. I let the kids tell me "Stop!" when they liked the shape their piece had taken. The final product resembles the glass art of Dale Chihuly, and fit well with our "Under the Sea" theme, as many of the forms came out looking like jellyfish, coral and other things you might find living/growing in the…

Things you'll need: Large cardboard/wood surface - lined with wax paper Wood dowels Can of spray foam Spray paint What you do: Place wood dowel on wax paper and secure with tape. Use spray foam to create organic free flowing motions that resemble coral. Note: Foam will expand so don't spray too much in one area. Let dry overnight. Carefully peel off wax paper. Then spray paint.

Crayon Batik.  Paint with melted crayons and dye fabric in black dye.

1/2 Tablespoon of oil and 1 teaspoon food coloring on top of small amount of water in shallow pan. Lay heavy paper (cardstock) on top and wait until you see oil coming through back. Lift paper and see your design. Can drag toothpick through colors to make new design.
