Zentraveler discovers the Filipino fruit Chico!
Chico-- I just met this fruit, a friend brought it from a farm in Waimanalo. It tastes like brown sugar and I am thinking it would be fabulous garnishing roasted acorn squash. Delicious by itself- smooth texture, rich sweet flavor. Not sure how healthy it is given the sweetness! From the Philipines, also eaten in India, Maylaysia, and called "Sapote" in Mexico it has lots of vitamins packed inside.
